Orangeville Honda supports Chum Christmas Wish
With the holiday season now in full swing, Orangeville Honda is once again partnering with the CP24 Chum Christmas Wish to make sure every kid gets a toy under their tree.
This is third year that Honda has partnered in the program with dealerships from around the Province taking part and filling cars with toys in their automobile showrooms.
The CP Chum Christmas Wish is now in it’s 50th year and has become one of the largest distributors to children in need in the GTA.
The program also provides financial assistance to hundreds of agencies ensuring that children in the region enjoy a holiday experience.
“We have partnered with the Chum Christmas Wish and put it out to our customers and people in the community to bring in a new unwrapped toy,” explained Orangeville Honda Controller, Rhonda Reid.
“In exchange they are given a ballot for a chance to win a 2017 Honda Civic. Our dealership has been a part of this since Honda Canada has been involved. This is our third year.”
There is currently a vehicle in the Orangeville Honda showroom that is being filled with toys as people bring them in and the response from the public in this area has been very good with many people dropping in to help fill up the car.
Dropping off a toy will not only make you feel good knowing you will be providing a present under the tree for some deserving girl or boy on Christmas day, you will also receive a ballot to enter your name for a chance to win a new car.
A simple act of generosity could see you driving away in a new Honda Civic.
“We’ve had a very good response. It’s always been very good here,” explained Ms. Reid. “Even people that aren’t customers come in which is nice. As Honda’s way of appreciating everyone who participates you get the ballot to win the Civic. We’ve done toy drives for years, even before partnering with Chum. In the last couple of days when the donation drive is on, it doubles, and even more people come in to drop off toys. It’s something we feel strongly about – giving back to your community. When CP24 Chum partnered with Honda it wasn’t an issue for us because we were already doing it and believed in it.”
Orangeville Honda is really getting into the Christmas spirit and is also a sponsor of Christmas in the Park at Kay Cee Park in Orangeville.
The Park even is hosted by the Optimist Club of Orangeville and turns Kay Cee park into a holiday wonderland of lights and Christmas events.
The opportunity to drop off a toy at the dealership will be available until December 14, when the toys will be delivered for distribution by CP24 Chum Christmas Wish.
